Chrysler SA CEO shot

During armed robbery.

The joint CEO of Chrysler South Africa and Fiat South Africa, Trent Barcroft, has been shot and is in a critical condition in hospital, according to Eyewitness News (EWN).

It reports that he was shot in the stomach during an armed robbery in Waterfall Park in Midrand on Saturday, seemingly after he and his wife Cathy were followed on their way home.

EWN states a vehicle knocked their car from behind and Barcroft was shot in the stomach when he got out to swop details with the other driver. The assailant stole his watch, wallet and cellphone and left Barcroft’s wife unharmed.

US citizen Barcroft is in intensive care, but expected to make a full recovery.
