Win a gastronomic experience

Enter today and enjoy dinner tonight or tomorrow night at The Twelve Apostles’ week of decadence.

Cape Town's  The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa is hosting a food and wine experience over the next five days, pairing the food of executive Chef Roberto de Carvalho with the wine choices of two award-winning Sommeliers, Luvo Ntezo and Eric Zwiebel.

de Carvalho's experimentation with Cape Fynbos inspires the five course meal, which features delicacies like a Spicy West Coast Crayfish Bisque and Fynbos, button Mushroom and wild Ginger Samoosas.

The Hotel's own young Sommelier, Luvo Ntezo, will team up with guest Sommelier Eric Zwiebel, winner of the French semi-final in the ‘Best Sommelier in the World' competition last year and UK Sommelier of the Year in 2004 and responsible for the cellars at the UK's Summer Lodge in Dorset. 

Ntezo, who is responsible for compiling the 12Apostle's award-winning wine list, has also seen his share of accolades.  He recently placed first in the national Chaîne des Rôtisseurs competition in their ‘Young Sommeliers' category, and will now go on to participate in the international competition in Vienna.

Zwiebel and Ntezo together have selected a range of local wines to pair with de Carvalho's dishes, which the chef says has been designed to showcase both high-quality local ingredients, as well as the delicate flavours of the indigenous fynbos.

The food and wine experience will run from the 24th to the 28th of January.  The cost of R645.00 per person includes a five course meal and accompanying wines. They are open to hotel guests and the general public alike.

The Twelve Apostles Hotel will host one winning couple at one of the evenings.  The prize will be awarded to the first person to email mandyldewaal@gmail.com before Tuesday 27^th of January at 12h00, and includes the menu for two and accompanying wines.  Any additional items will be for the winners, own account.  The winning couple must be Cape Town based, or able to make their own way to The Twelve Apostles Hotel for one of the evenings on 27^th or 28^th of January 2009.
