DepartureMan behind King code departs from Brait |
Mervyn King, who developed SA's King code on corporate governance, will retire as a director and non-executive chairman of Brait with immediate effect. He will be replaced by another well known name in SA - Jabu Moleketi.
Moleketi was deputy finance minister from April 29 2004 to September 23 2008.
King has been chairman of Brait since 1998 and was a former judge of the High Court, he is also chairman of the King Committee on Corporate Governance and a member of the Securities Regulation Panel.
