JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africa's Hosken Consolidated Investments Ltd reported a 16 percent drop in first-half headline earnings on Friday.
Hosken, which controls leisure firm Johnnic Holdings and has a majority stake in commercial TV broadcaster etv, said revenue for the six months to end-September rose 35.3 percent to 4.16 billion rand, compared to 3.29 billion rand in the year-ago period.
The company said revenue had mainly been boosted by the consolidation of Seardel Group into its operations in the second half of its 2009 financial year.
Its shares were 0.80 percent lower at 68.35 rand by 1317 GMT, lagging a slightly firmer JSE All-share index.
Luke Doig says talks of interest rate hikes are ludicrous.
Moneyweb Community member says it is a myth.
