Greenpeace’s Turncoat gets a mouthful from a Moneyweb Community member.

Our Esteemed Guest, Dr Moore is "the Judas of Environmental Movement"

This morning when I listened to an interview of Dr Moore on SAFM's Morning Live, I suddenly recalled an excellent article I stumbled upon a few weeks ago. It is penned by Professor Karl Grossman of the State University of New York College, published on "Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting" (www.fair.org) site, and entitled "Money is the Real Green Power".

The article describes our esteemed guest as a "Judas of the Ecology Movement" whose association with Greenpeace movement ended in 1986. It goes on to reveal that he has spent more time working as a PR consultant to the logging, mining, biotech, nuclear and other industries than he did as an environmental activist.

It is not only one thing that undermines the credibility of Dr Moore's riveting presentation as you suggest in your article, it appears that he has been on the payroll of the Nuclear Energy Institute for a long time, hence the description of him and his ilk  as the "Greens for Hire".

The most striking feature of arguments advanced by these "environmentalists" of nuclear power being a clean alternative is that they are interspersed with omissions and half truths and at times, blatant lies. "The dirty secret is that nuclear power makes a substantial contribution to global warming. Nuclear power is actually a chain of highly energy-intensive industrial processes. These include uranium mining, conversion, enrichment and fabrication of nuclear fuel; construction and deconstruction of the massive nuclear facility structures; and the disposition of high-level nuclear waste."

I guess you will advise visitors to your site to take a look at the article I have referred to elsewhere in this contribution, so that people who will attend Dr Moore's forthcoming presentations may challenge him to come clean on his label as a "Green for Hire"
