Johann Rupert has been appointed head of Stellenbosch University.
JOHANNESBURG - CEO and chairman of Richemont (JSE:RCH) and one of SA's richest men, Johann Rupert has been appointed chancellor of Stellenbosch University.
Rupert replaces Frederick van Zyl Slabbert, who recently took ill.
Rupert was born in Stellenbosch in 1950 and regularly ranks among Forbes list of world's richest people.
He owns a wine estate, and also sits on the board of Venfin and Remgro.
