A fresh approach to offshore diversification

There are various ways to access global markets, but navigating the intricacies of moving and investing money offshore requires expert know how.

Are you looking to grow your personal wealth by diversifying globally, or simply wanting to save for your next international trip?

Perhaps you need to build a nest egg in US dollars, pounds or euros to cover tuition should your children wish to continue their education abroad at Yale, Oxford or Cambridge?

In this webinar recording, Moneyweb’s Ciaran Ryan chats with First National Bank’s Chantal Robertson, Wayne McCurrie and Rikki Barnes gaining further insight into taking a fresh approach to offshore investing, and unpacking some of the trends and considerations for a global citizen.

This webinar took place on Wednesday, September 29.

About the panelists:

Chantal Robertson
Head of Cross-Border Advice at First National Bank

Robertson has been involved in the financial services industry for just over 30 years and started her career with FNB in the foreign exchange dealing environment, and subsequently moved into the Exchange Control Consulting field with PwC.  During this time, she worked with many multi-nationals providing guidance on a range of regulatory matters.

In addition, she was involved in the 2003 Amnesty, during which time she focused on individuals and the unwinding of loop structures.  This knowledge stood her in good stead with the following 2 amnesties (the Voluntary Disclosure Programmes in 2010 and 2016) after re-joining FNB in 2006. Robertson is a solutions driven cross-border expert who assists clients, both on an individual and business level, with complex needs in terms of foreign exchange and exchange control requirements. Robertson works with clients, primarily in the Ultra-High Net Worth space assisting with their cross-border needs ranging from transactional advice to assistance on complex exchange control issues.  This is particularly relevant with the recent and proposed regulatory changes in South Africa during 2021.
