The powers that be should spread their wings to Yellow Card as well. It seems like there is also some elements who arranges for the “mysterious” disappearance of customers’ crypto coins.

Yes it did happen with me. This is why I am bringing it to the fore.

Don’t stress too much, you can also lose money in Gold (Harmony gold)

Good luck Mr Hanekom-those youngsters are many things but sure not stupid.

Unbelievable that otherwise well-educated and intelligent people are still giving their money to these shysters. How many more of these scams will it take for the public to realize that crypto is indelibly stained by criminality?

yes because all criminals the world over are using magic beans and shells from the beach, for heavens sake a criminal will use any financial means possible. FIAT currency outweighs crypto criminality by about a billion to one. Do your homework

Not sure how accurate that’d be if you compare using proportional market sizes and remove variables like access to the internet. Fiat is a lot more risky than crypto when it comes to illegitimate transactions, except if its cash. I have no stats on fraudulent transactions on cryptocurrencies (lack of regulation doesn’t help), but I’d be really surprised this to be true.

Scammers tend to thrive with greedy people who are far too eager to make a quick buck. Not saying those who had their crypto stolen fit into this category.

How difficult can it be for law enforcement to trace these clowns?
Check the passport system locally and with Interpol and monitor the phones, email and social media logins (I refer to IP address tracing to quickly see where they are, and VPNs will not hide this) – all possible under the circumstances as getting the necessary court orders should be a doddle.

End of comments.
