Budget allocation for education must go to ‘right places’

The sector is still in dire need of infrastructure development.

Tito Mboweni’s focus for the budget may be on state-owned enterprises but a large portion, if not the largest, still goes to basic education. Some commentators are concerned that education could fall by the wayside yet SA’s education system ranks lower than African and international counterparts. 

Kaya Ntayi, stakeholder relations and communications manager at Kagiso Shanduka Trust, talks to Classic Business Breakfast with Moneyweb about whether or not budget allocations are going to the correct aspects of the education system’s value chain.
