Manufacturing output rises but at slow pace

Manufacturing production rose in November, but at a slower pace. According to Stats SA data, factory output rose by 1.6% on a y/y basis, compared to a rise of 2.8% in October. On a month-on-month basis, there was a weakening trend in growth. 

Jason Muscat, an independent economic analyst, gives us his reading into the latest data. He explains that food and beverages saw positive growth, which is typical of the time of year, while the vehicle and transport industry also saw a steady increase.
