Power generation in the hands of citizens; what now?

Clarity is needed on how Nersa’s plans to licence businesses to generate power will work in practice.

The Energy Minister Jeff Radebe has instructed the National Energy Regulator of South Africa that it can go ahead and award licences to businesses that apply to generate their own power and also be able to feed it into the grid. How will this work in practice?
