Denel fires CFO

Wim de Klerk, former chief executive of ArcelorMittal South Africa has been appointed as acting CFO.

South African state-owned weapons manufacturer Denel has fired its chief financial officer Odwa Mhlwana after he was found guilty of all disciplinary charges relating to irregular expenditure, the firm said on Friday.

The firm appointed Wim de Klerk, former chief executive of ArcelorMittal South Africa as acting CFO, adding that a formal process to recruit a permanent CFO will commence soon.

Stick to Wim , he at least understands what irregular expenditure means .
Nobody is perfect , and we all make mistakes , but it boggles the mind to read daily of senior management in SOE,s who seem to have no clue of what acceptable management conduct entails .
A simple training course on ethics , and an exam to check on the skills required for the job , comes to mind .
How can we build successful SOE,s if senior management are so obviously woefully ill equipped for the job .
It is time to place SA first and polical expediency second …in this regard we can follow Donald Trump .
