Eskom says to cut 1 000 MW from grid Monday night

Due to constrained demand.

South African power utility Eskom said on Monday it would cut 1 000 megawatts of electricity from the national grid until 20:00 GMT.

Eskom made the announcement on its Twitter handle and gave no further details. It has been implementing power cuts on an almost daily basis because of a shortage of generating units and as it conducts maintenance on its aging plants.
