Ford to clarify Kuga problem

After numerous cars catch alight.

According to The Sunday Independent here, Ford is to hold a media briefing on Monday in Pretoria, to address problems with its Kuga SUV models.

TimesLIVE reports here that at least 47 have caught alight in the country since last year, and one person died. It adds that The Times’ investigation found that Ford SA “was warned of the problems last January following an investigator’s probe into two Kuga fires”.

The Sunday Independent states that most recently, a Ford Kuga caught alight on Saturday on the M1. It adds that Ford South Africa asked that all local Kuga owners take their cars in for a safety inspection, in December.
