Fuel prices to rise in August

Diesel will rise by 45 cents to R13.48 per litre.

The retail price of petrol in South Africa will increase by about 0.33% from August 5, while the price of wholesale diesel will rise by nearly 3.5%, the energy department said on Monday.

The price of petrol will increase by 5 cents to R15.17 ($0.8762) per litre in the commercial hub of Gauteng province, the national benchmark for prices, while diesel will rise by 45 cents to R13.48 per litre.
