Health minister says will support listeria litigation

Motsoaledi says will give any community intending legal action all the data and expertise.

South Africa’s health minister said on Thursday the government would support any community intending court action over the world’s largest listeria outbreak that has killed 180 people since December.

“Those members of the community who want to litigate, we will give them all the information… all the data, we’ll give all the expertise to litigate,” Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi told parliament.

Unfortunately the Dept of Health is as liable as the companies they suggest could be sued….their handling of this global crisis has been abismal. South Africa is not the only country with this problem – it’s like holding the NHS in Britain liable for the flu epidemic! Transferring the blame to public companies is unfair and unhelpful.

they don’t know what the word responsibility means….ek hoop Tiger Brands ry hulle tot in hulle moer in die hof.

End of comments.
