Petrol pump price to rise

As of June 3.

JOHANNESBURG – The retail price of petrol in South Africa will rise by 3.6% from June 3, while wholesale diesel will go up by 4.4%, the energy department said on Thursday.

In a statement, the department said petrol would cost R13.36 in the commercial hub of Gauteng province, while diesel would be R11.67. The government adjusts the price of fuel every month, taking into account global prices and shifts in the rand exchange rate.
