SA’s January manufacturing output down 2.3% y/y

South Africa’s manufacturing production contracted 2.3% year-on-year in January after a revised 0.9% growth in December, Statistics South Africa said on Thursday.

On a month-on-month basis, factory output fell by 1.5%, and was down 0.6% in the three months to January compared with the previous three months.
