SA’s mining output down, PPI slows in October

South Africa‘s total mining output fell 2.9% year-on-year in October after contracting by a revised 0.6% in September, Statistics South Africa said on Thursday.

The statistics office also said South Africa‘s producer price inflation (PPI) slowed to a 2.3% year-on-year increase in November from 3% in October. On a month-on-month basis, PPI fell 0.3% after rising 0.3% the previous month.
