South Africa’s Old Mutual has made “good progress” on its search for a new CEO and hopes to make an announcement soon, Chairman Trevor Manuel told the insurer’s virtual annual general meeting on Friday.

The 175-year-old insurer has been led by acting CEO Iain Williamson since the abrupt sacking of ex-CEO Peter Moyo in June last year.

Having not had no CEO or fighting the “fired” one for so long , one wonders i such a position actually does anything ?

The joke in the market is that Big Green is ‘dead from the toenails up’.

Who appoints a conflicted Zimbabwean in the first place.

Please do not rush this decision. Look what happened to the Boards last appointment. Probably a fair reflection of the capability of the Board…starting with that adorable Chairman

What about a new chairman?

Why the big pay packets for CEOS’s when the number two does the same job at a normal salary?

My sense is that Whites should not bother applying but prove me wrong.
