Standard Bank’s investment credit chief resigns

Bank is yet to name a replacement.

Standard Bank Group said Jeremy Walker, chief credit officer in the corporate and investment banking business, has resigned and will move to Switzerland where he has family.

Africa’s biggest bank by assets has yet to name a replacement for Walker, who leaves after more than five years at the Johannesburg-based lender, David Munro, Standard Bank’s head of corporate and investment banking, said Thursday in an interview at the World Economic Forum on Africa in Cape Town.

“Jeremy was a great guy and added a lot of value,” Munro said. “But the quality of our risk team is very high, so I’m very confident in the talent we have. We will follow the normal succession process.”
