Zuma says SA could miss 2017 economic growth target

Political and policy uncertainty drag business and consumer confidence to worst levels.

JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s economy will likely fail to meet the 1.1% annual growth targeted by the government, President Jacob Zuma told delegates at the ruling African National Congress’ policy conference on Friday.

Data in June showed the continent’s most industrialised economy had slipped into recession as major sectors shrunk while political and policy uncertainty dragged business and consumer confidence to their worst levels in decades.

Was there ever a chance of meeting it??

All these targets are unrealistic when the country is financially raped

There was a good chance. SA was on a very good recovery path until Zuma decided to reshuffle the cabinet.

Well that’s why the phrase recession indicates. All thanks to Zupta’s and anc corrupt dealings. All SOE’s bankcrupt, unemployment at 27.7% and anc carries on business as usual destroying what is left of economy. No real surprise….

News for you Zoomer – the economy will NOT grow in 2017 -Hello!!!!

Nearly every year the growth forecast has been revised downward during the year several times. Why would this year be different?
