Eskom is implementing Stage 2 loadshedding from 16:00 until 21:00 on Thursday (tonight) due to a shortage of generation capacity.

“Unfortunately, a generation unit each at Tutuka and Medupi Power Stations were forced offline this afternoon, increasing the capacity constraints on the power system,” it said in a statement.

“Further, a unit each at Medupi and Tutuka, that were expected to return to service this afternoon have now been delayed, further contributing to the shortages.”

Eskom says the breakdowns currently total 14 137MW while planned maintenance is 2 924MW of capacity.

The utility says it regrets the inconvenience caused by these power constraints, however it continues to “urge the public to reduce the usage of electricity in order to help ease the pressure on the power system.”

Eskom can’t generate electricity, but they sure can generate fairy tales.

Ons se baie baie dankie! ons se baie baie dankie vir jul onbeholpentheid!

Wow huge saving in my little village. 3 electric blankets and a few tvs.

Why the shortage? There are 200 malls with no lights on.

really? They have no lights? They aren’t using more power as they frantically rebuild and restock? Did you just make that up?

Our quadruple wammy…

1) ANC corruption
2) Loadshedding (linked to ANC corruption)
3) Covid-19 and ANC stealing PPE and Ters Funds
4) Riots and looting (part of ANC sedition)

All due to the ANC

End of comments.
