The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) said on Monday it would deploy soldiers in the Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provinces to help law enforcement agencies, after violent protesting and looting linked to the jailing of former president Jacob Zuma.

The SANDF said in a statement that the duration of the deployment and number of soldiers would depend on the situation on the ground.

Won’t help. The military will not use (sharp/live) ammo to shoot on SA citizens. The ANC will not shoot on its own people.

Perhaps just to “chase” the looters (temporarily) away / or some deterrent.

(Obviously, the only way to set an example and stop looting, will be to have an aftermath like in Cassinga, 1978 Angola)

The (new) SANDF is a zero on a contract…expect more looting to come.

Marikana Part II.

Not in the slightest. This is nothing like the conditions in Marikana. LOL!

OK boomer.

Too late. Always too late. The army should have been on site waiting. The damage is done. The world saw this and the ANC did nothing to prevent it.

Just what they want and their intention is clear.

Once this calms down a bit you will see a “Great Trek” Many many people will go away. Many that did not plan on going.

The locals might at first think good riddance but it is going to put this country back decades. It will never recover again.

Watch this space.

Yes today was the topping point we are the country with the most protests in the world. Literally a protest for everything. The arrests of Zuma has no connection to protests but instead the World watches, yes how is Rama going to explain this to the G7 how is he going to step forth at the UN and talk filth and skew lies. For what it’s worth after today I think the exodus has begun. I can’t feel what us hardworking citizens watch and see everything ancestors, current people and future generations could benefit from. This is exactly like the Book of Revelations the unrighteous will be regarded as Righteous. It is sad now you ask yourself why is there a lifetime of suffering because the seed of curse has been planted and watered generation after generation. God only helps those who help themselves. What if they mobilize and start invading homes is my concern.

Agreed.

Ask yourself if this was sort of expected?? The answer is probably yes. So I think your last sentence unfortunately might happen sooner rather than later. Where are these “people” going to get food?? Many of these businesses will never open again.

Hmmm…since there was a report of a suspicious SAPS vehicle, partaking in loading looted items, an Army vehicle is even more handy: you can loot a hell of a lot more WITH the help of the (unprofessional) army.

End of comments.
