South Africa‘s health regulator has approved Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine for use by children aged 12 and older, paving the way for the government to offer vaccinations to teenagers.

The South African Health Products Authority (Saphra) said the decision came after a review of updated safety and efficacy information submitted in March this year.

After a bumpy start, South Africa‘s vaccination campaign has ramped up in recent months with a solid supply of shots secured and just over 12% of its more than 60 million people vaccinated. That puts the country well ahead of others on the continent.

However, health insurers say vaccine hesitancy is now the main issue impacting the pace of the campaign and the government has launched efforts to persuade people to get the jab.

South Africa has a large youth population, with some 28% under the age of 15.

Countries around the world are now considering or administering vaccines to children, while other vaccine developers including Moderna are seeking the green light for the use of their shots on teens.

Pfizer, whose shot is already being administered to teens, is planning tests on even younger children.

More funerals to be attended via internet.

Why are you so concerned about some potential but exceptionally rare side effects of the vaccine but you are so unconcerned about the known and far more likely effects of the disease?

It just doesn’t seem rational. Can’t say your lot’s histrionics and over-dramatics are compelling.

The blinkered focus on injections to the exclusion of all other treatments is clear bias. Unless this virus is eradicated in an effective manner there will be no end to it. The media has revealed itself to be a collusive propaganda tool. Already this attempt to communicate is fodder to the censor. Any pro injection comment is OK whilst any other view receives fascist eradication. A broader perspective is not heresy. But sure, its a wasted effort even trying.

Again you fail to answer the question.

Also you whine about the lock downs and the masks. Seems the only treatment that DOESN’T upset you as a solution is to accept the CERTAIN consequences.

Why would I vaccinate my child when children are close to immunte to covid?? This is simply about money now…

The approved one is the Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine and not BioNtech. BioNtech is still under emergency use. By leaving it out people think the one available is licensed. Licensed vaccines that cause damage allows for recourse ie sueing. Unlicensed don’t really… that is seriosuly significant. It’s a bait and switch tactic.

How desperate are these psychopaths! Because no one else is taking this rubbish, let’s jab the kids before it expires.

Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the CHILDREN!

Professor Wei Shen Lim, Chair of COVID-19 Immunisation for the JCVI, said:

Children aged 12 to 15 years old with underlying health conditions that put them at higher risk of severe COVID-19 should be offered COVID-19 vaccination. The range of underlying health conditions that apply has recently been expanded.

For otherwise healthy 12 to 15 year old children, their risk of severe COVID-19 disease is small and therefore the potential for benefit from COVID-19 vaccination is also small. The JCVI’s view is that overall, the health benefits from COVID-19 vaccination to healthy children aged 12 to 15 years are marginally greater than the potential harms.

Taking a precautionary approach, this margin of benefit is considered too small to support universal COVID-19 vaccination for this age group at this time. The committee will continue to review safety data as they emerge.

Do I sense a leaning towards the doctrine of “DO NO HARM”. Its about as watered down as it can be without becoming the norm of timidly abandoned so as to appease the shareholders.

Poor kids. This is so wrong.

So the key thing to know here is it the Pfizer Comirnaty Vaccine that has been approved and not the Pfizer BioNtech. The BioNtech is still under phase 3 trials until Jan2023. There are no Pfizer Comirnaty vaccines available in SA. I find it astounding how the media conveniently leaves this fact out which creates the impression the one available is fully licensed and approved – its not.

You have recourse from injury from the Comirnaty version, you have basically no recourse from the BioNtech version as it only has emergency approval.

It’s useful to know for a vaccine to get Emergency approval there can be no treatment modalities such that work. So if you want emergency approval, better squash anything that shows promise or works reasonably well.

You could not make this up in less than half the time since 9/11. Unbelievably deceptive but clearly planned. The time to create and own the WHO? Politicians are easy but health authorities? You need $ trillions to make multi $ trillions. Control of the FED also helps. And this is just a precursor in the scheme.

Yes, I also believe in witch doctors and African potatoes.

Except your lot said that about bleach, malaria pills and bananas.

If it was about saving lives, you would follow the evidence what the doctors tell you. But instead you clamour for miracle folksy faith-based cures.

And still rightly mock those who go to the sangoma even though you are doing the same thing.

No, Japan did not approve anything. That was the chairman of the Tokyo Medical Association, these posts are misleading; while he cautiously supported the treatment, the association does not represent the country’s government, which has not endorsed ivermectin for that use.

Stop using social media to inform your opinions. That is not “research”.

Your obnoxious efforts are not needed, big pharma octopus has got it all sewn up.

Great rational comment.

A real man would admit he lied to push an agenda because he was influenced by twitter. You just try and change the topic. Disgusting.

@Moneyweb, I wonder how you can live with yourselves, you suppress every truth that happens to contradict the mainstream narrative. Dr Tess Lawrie’s trial results are fantastic news that ought to be shouted from the rooftops. Yet you are not allowing your readership to know how safe and effective an alternate medication can be in fending off SARS Cov2.

Hmmm, perhaps the links I attached caused a previous comment to be held. Search Dr Tess Lawrie; Ivermectin for Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19 Infection: A Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, and Trial Sequential Analysis to Inform Clinical Guidelines

Feels strongly like SAPHRA is forcing this on to us.We cant even choose.
