South Africa’s environment department said on Thursday that it had refused applications by Karpowership for environmental authorisations for three gas-to-power projects.

In March, the government selected three Karpowership projects among preferred bidders in an emergency power tender. A company that lost out subsequently challenged the tender results in court, and environmental activists have expressed opposition to the Karpowership projects.

This is a developing story.

And now the plan is just dead, or does this mean another strategic 5y plan/roadmap/war room need formulation with ‘necessary’ advisors and ‘required’ expenses?

Yip … No doubt the cadres who would lose out are now frantically organising interventions at expensive restaurants and game lodges.

Good. Let’s hope it’s the end of this corrupt farce.

Someone, somewhere, has got the balls to take a decisive environmental decision against this disgusting, toxic, gas-emitting proposal.

Barbara Creesy….Respect!

Is she the one with the new Land Rover?

Jonno I take it u speaking from yr house that is All green uses solar only, no wood polluting fire place or toxic gas to keep u warm in the eve……. If that’s not the case u know what that makes u right…..
A damn hypocrite……
So which one are u?? Most of u greenies have no probs polluting yrself when no one’s watching but quick on social signaling…… I’m smelling a hypocrite here Jonno…. Am I correct?

Ally Scat …

You upset ‘cos someone set fire to your brown envelope before it arrived???

ROFL!

Clearly the brown envelopes were not thick enough !!

Of course not. They will be back no doubt.

Great!! Very unexpected.

Now just get going with renewables. NOW!!!

So where to now Gwede?

When the (eventual) Karpowership contract expires, and the ship to leave for the next country destination…..at that point in time, the ANC connected elite will be offered an opportunities to “export/launder” their looted cash to a foreign destination.

(…and we know security wise, harbors are more porous than stringent airport terminals)

This is just ANC style.

The deal is pretty much already done. The ANC want the kickbacks. They are just making it seem like there was some official process around it.

Politicking for the stupid and gullible.

We dodged a bullet there !! 20 year contract – eish

End of comments.
