Adriaan Kruger

After earning a B. Comm (Communications) degree, Adriaan spent 10 years working as a financial reporter. After spending 15 years as analyst at different stockbroking firms and a stint as lecturer in economics, he decided to feed his need of reading annual reports, business news and whatever financial articles he can find. He also admits to serving a term as ward councillor.

Tebogo Tshwane is a curious and enthusiastic journalist with an interest in public policy and labour. She started her career at Eyewitness News as an intern and then moved to the Mail and Guardian where she was a business reporter underneath the Adamela Trust before joining Moneyweb in 2019.

Roy Cokayne

Roy Cokayne has been a financial journalist for 34 years, focusing largely on the automotive, construction and property sectors. He is fascinated and passionate about life, living, the truth and justice.

Eleanor Becker

Eleanor joined Moneyweb in May 2012 after working as a deputy editor of a supply chain magazine and as a staff writer for Creamer Media. She has a BSc and PGCE from Rhodes University and follows ‘green,’ social impact, corporate governance and medical aid stories.

Melitta Ngalonkulu is a tenacious journalist with an interest in business and financial news. She started her career at The Herald as an intern and then moved to Forbes Africa, where she was a business reporter, before joining Moneyweb in 2019. She won Sanlam's Best Newcomer in Business and Financial news award in 2017.

Hilton Tarrant works at YFM. Prior to that, he worked at a specialist software development agency after leaving a full-time, award-winning career as a financial journalist. He has been a financial journalist since 2005.

Ann Crotty has been writing on business and corporate governance for decades and has seen little improvement in all that time.

Mamokgethi Molopyane is a mining and labour analyst. She’s also the founder of Creative Voodoo Consulting. She’s done work in the biofuel, forestry, mining, energy and space industries.

Boitumelo Ntsoko

Boitumelo Ntsoko has worked as a sub-editor for Sowetan, The Times and the Sunday Times. She's currently the editor of The Citizen newspaper's business section, CitiBusiness (which Moneyweb manages) and facilitates Moneyweb's Click-An-Advisor. She is passionate about personal finance and believes that staying calm in the storm can help you find solutions.

Ciaran Ryan

Freelance journalist

Ciaran Ryan is a Johannesburg-based freelance writer who has a background in finance and mining, having previously headed up a gold mining operation in Ghana. He currently writes for several SA and overseas journals on matters ranging from mining to investment.

Amanda has been a journalist since 1986 and has worked in print, radio, television and online. She joined the world of financial journalism around 2003 and has never looked back. She specializes in tax and has written about trade law, competition law and regulatory issues.

Suren Naidoo

Suren is a passionate young South African business journalist with a keen interest in property, tourism, retail, media and sports.

After a year of insurance underwriting, Jerry Schuitema joined the SABC as a reporter in 1966, concentrating on economic affairs. He went on to became the SABC's first economics editor. In March 1990, he established South Africa's first Specialist Developmental Communications consultancy.

Financial journalism is in Ryk's blood. He has been in the industry for 20 years, and is looking forward to the next 20. Ryk has won numerous journalism awards, including several Sanlam Financial Journalist of the Year category awards and the coveted Radio Journalist of the Year award in 2016. He was also acknowledged as the National Press Club’s Editor of the Year in 2013. Ryk is also the anchor of the largest national business radio show in South Africa, RSG Geldsake, and hosts other dedicated personal finance and entrepreneurship shows. He is a well-known public speaker and facilitator, and a regular political and economic commentator on many South African television and radio platforms. Ryk has an MBL and M.Phil in Journalism – both achieved cum laude.

Larry Claasen

Larry Claasen is a veteran (read old) financial journalist. He has worked at Business Day, Financial Mail, written for Finweek and for a time edited ITWeb Brainstorm. He has also been fortunate enough to win a few journalism awards. He has a twin brother.

Nompumelelo Siziba is a business news and television anchor and reporter, with a track record spanning over 17 years. In recent years she's developed as a markets anchor, looking at global and local markets with the assistance of experts in the field.
