Citadel Global Equity Comment - Dec 19

2020/02/19 00:00:00
The Citadel Global Equity H4 Fund of Funds (‘the fund’) delivered 0.3% in Q4-2019, as the MSCI All Country World Index (‘MSCI ACWI’) gained 0.5% in rand terms. The fund’s underlying funds had mixed results during the quarter; with the Orbis Global Equity Fund delivering a stellar 3.5% while the Peregrine Global Greats Fund was up 0.2%, and the iShares World Equity Index Fund (flat) performed in line with its own MSCI World Index benchmark; which in turn underperformed the MSCI ACWI due to emerging market strength in the quarter.
In aggregate, the fund remains well diversified at both sector and country level, with a particular emphasis currently on financials, healthcare, industrials, information technology and US-domiciled companies. The fund continues to adhere to its policy.
  • Fund focus and objective
The primary objective of this fund is long term capital growth, in real terms, through investing predominantly in a selection of funds with exposure to listed global equity securities.
